Seven Days of Grace — Day 2: Creating Quiescence

I cultivated the experience of "doing" in between the pauses.

There used to be a time when I was trying to pause in between the doing. Most of my life, actually.

Until I enrolled in the Virtual Pearl Retreat last November. Pausing became a way of life. Little by little.

It's so simple. It starts with that one pause. The first one.

And then another.

It becomes like an addiction.

And I discovered a new way of being: wintering (thanks to the book with the same title, written by Katherine May).

Wintering is like a loooong pause in which you allow yourself to rest and retreat, honoring that winter season within ourselves (even in the middle of the Summer, if you will).

Time seems to become fluid through the pausing and the doing. I used to think that I didn't have time for pausing, that it was a waste of time. And now, contemplation fills more of my day — I came to understand that there's always time for a pause, especially during a busy day.

Through the pause, I experience the wonder of life 💗

Amen 🙏🏻
